<b>Forests </b><b>and </b><b>Trees </b>focuses on research into landscape as metaphor for the human condition, the Contemporary Sublime, human psychology, atmospheric conditions and subjects surrounding climate change.<br><br>This item contains 4 images documenting <b>What If We All Stopped?</b> a tank work made for and exhibited at Art Basel 2018. Drawing on the evocation of the sublime in German Romanticism, <b>What If We All Stopped?</b> is a section of forest, made from resin, submerged in a water solution inside a glass vitrine. It was displayed at Art Basel within a darkened chamber lit by a single beam of light aiming to highlight in the viewer a sense of the figure alone in the woods at dusk, at once immersed and detached.<br><br><b>What If We All Just Stopped?</b>, 2018<div><div>Mixed media including water, acrylic medium,</div><div>salt, fibre-glass</div><div>71,8 × 66,1 × 174,6 cm.<br><br><b>What If We All Just Stopped? </b>was also due to be exhibited in November 2020 as part of <b>Diversity United. Contemporary European Art. Moscow. Berlin. Paris.</b>,<b> </b>a touring exhibition of 81 artists from 35 countries set up by<i> </i>The Foundation for Art and Culture, Bonn and the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow.
