Fragile Stories - Elam International Print Workshop Exhibition, New Zealand, 2015
Fragile Stories explores the complexity of mark making on an intimate scale, using typographic punctuation and careful precision to create skeletal structures inspired by the natural world and textile samples. It responds to nature as lines, shapes and rhythms of contemplative repetition, and to stitching as text and language.
This item contains a wood engraving by Bonnell, 'Tea Tree Seed and Flower' (2015), which was shown at the Elam International Print Workshop exhibition, Gus Fisher Gallery, Auckland, New Zealand, 30 January 2015 - 28 February 2015.
The Elam International printmaking Workshop (EIPW 2015) brought together an invited group of international printmakers and Elam School of Art Students and staff to work together in the wider community and produce new original works across the full range of printmaking processes. The workshop culminated in a major exhibition at the University of Auckland’s Gus Fisher Gallery.
Bonnell also gave a keynote lecture on her work and ran a workshop on wood engraving for MA printmaking students at the University of Auckland.
