Making_Writing - Light Pricks - Plymouth Arts Centre Talk, 2017 (Contextualising Information)

<p><i>Making_Writing</i> contains two projects,<i> Light Pricks: :whispers & kicks</i> and <i>SCULPTURE, MODELLING and POTTERY</i>, produced between 2017 and 2019. Each project explores making, and the context of making, through a writing process that is proposed, itself, as<i> </i>a form of making, with multiple registers of language employed to produce ‘constructed’ texts. Both projects employ interviewing as a research method.</p><p>'Light Pricks: :whispers & kicks' was written for a publication/catalogue to accompany Clare Thornton’s exhibition <i>Materials of Resistance</i>, Plymouth Arts Centre, 01 December 2017 – 20 January 2018. Designed by City Edition Studio, with writing by Phil Owen, Emma Cocker, Heike Roms, and Natalie Raven.</p><p>This item contains the notes and presentation for the Plymouth Arts Centre Home Talk, ‘Writing Making | Making Writing: Retaking the side of things’, delivered by Wilson on 13 December 2017. The talk was comprised of a performance of ‘Light Pricks: :Whispers and Kicks’ and a talk about its production and research context.</p><p> </p><p></p>
