On the Inside is a research project created by Dr Helena Enright, Senior Lecturer in Drama, at Bath Spa University, in partnership with Geese Theatre Company, Birmingham and the University of Warwick. This research project explores how a ‘theatre of testimony’ performance methodology can respond creatively to the contemporary experiences of mothers in prison in the UK and the archive, culminating in a theatre performance output entitled Playing the Game.

This item contains an excerpt from the ‘Prisoner Health Project Publication’ document, created for the University of Warwick Conference, which provides further context for On the Inside. The excerpted section, titled 'Reflecting history:
Geese, On The Inside', contains a dialogue with Helena Enright about her work on the project.
