Portrait of an Egg was a multi-faceted project comprising a curatorial interactive website, 2 sculptural and audio visual installations and 2 seminars. Addressing the new ways of seeing created by the phenomenon of viewing Art through the camera phone, the components of this project came together as part of Photo London, Somerset House in 2019.
This item documents the installation and unveiling of Oeuvre (Verdigris) 2019 on the River Terrace at Somerset House in London. The 2.5m patinated bronze sculpture was the first stage in the Portrait of An Egg project which sought to explore the impact of technology on contemporary culture consumption through an open call to submit portrait images of an egg. Oeuvre (Verdigris) acted as a focus to initiate dialogue and participation in a mass creative act.
This item contains a contextual outline, 8 images of the unveiling of Oeuvre (Verdigris), an accompanying display board and 3 studio images of the work.
