The Tarrare Project: History of Medicine and The Depraved Appetite of Tarrare the Freak

Research programme given to audience members at 2015 premiere of puppet chamber opera The Depraved Appetite of Tarrare the Freak at the Bristol Festival of Puppetry, Tobacco Factory Theatres. Documents the collaborative research, which informed the development of the show, into the case study of 18th-century medical anomaly Tarrare by Dr Laura Purcell-Gates, Dr Alan Bates, Dr David Turner, Dr John Lee and the intercalated BA in Medical Humanities programme at Bristol University.
