Capturing Creativity, 2023 - Presentation 2 - Practice Research: Investigations, Findings, Dissemination (Prof. Maria Delgado and Prof. Robert Adlington)
Presentation 2 from the 'Capturing Creativity, 2023' conference on Monday 18th September, 2023, given by Prof. Maria Delgado and Prof. Robert Adlington.
Maria Delgado is Professor and Vice Principal (research and knowledge exchange) at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London. She has published widely in areas of transnational theatre and film, and has a track record of work (both national and international) of advisory work in research funding and assessment, (including as a founding member of Research England Council and as a subpanel chair for REF 2021).
Professor Robert Adlington is Head of Research and Doctoral Programmes at the Royal College of Music. He previously held teaching and research posts at Sussex, Nottingham and Huddersfield. He has published books and articles on various aspects of experimental and avant-garde music after 1960, and is author of a forthcoming book on music and democracy. He was deputy chair of subpanel 33 for REF 2021.
Using the definition of research offered by Research England, the body that funds and engages with English higher education providers, to create and sustain a healthy and dynamic research and knowledge exchange, (‘a process of investigation leading to new insights effectively shared’), in this presentation we focus on the importance of articulating the questions, methodologies and findings of practice research. As such, we can work towards ensuring, as a community of researchers, that we can disseminate the findings of our research as widely and effectively as possible.
