Presentation given as part of Capturing Creativity Week 2024. Event 2: Institutional Perspectives, Tuesday 10th September 2024.

Presentation by Victoria Barragán and Daniel Morrell of Manchester Metropolitan University.

Speaker Biographies: Victoria began working as Practice Research Support Manager at Manchester Met in February this year with responsibility for supporting practice researchers submitting portfolios for REF 2029. Prior to this, she was a Data Curation Manager at Digital Science and a Research Data Manager at the University of Salford. Victoria holds a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from the University of Salford and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Management from Manchester Metropolitan University.

As Digital Curator & Archivist at Manchester Metropolitan University, Daniel provides support to Practice Researchers in the design and development of their portfolios for submission to REF 2029. Daniel is also a Filmmaker specialising in telling the stories of research for Universities and Cultural Institutions around the UK. His films having been recognised by the AHRC Research in Film awards and film festivals locally and internationally.

Presentation Synopsis: The presentation will give an overview of the current support and development offer for practice researchers preparing portfolios for REF submission at MMU, including information about workshops, portfolio champions, and individual support sessions. We will talk about how we format and record the portfolios ready for submission and discuss some of our plans for showcasing our portfolios more widely.
