This item contains appendices relating to the PhD thesis, Embodying the Eerie: An investigation of the Eerie as a Dramaturgical Concept in Processes of Directing Devised Performance, by doctoral candidate Mary Steadman.

Dwelling is a site-specific intermedial performance that explores the eeriness of place through filming in the derelict Poltimore House mansion in Devon. The five short films form the basis of a visual dramaturgy that explores the 'tangible and intangible affects of place', performing the 'unseen watcher' the house as an 'agential site', 'eerie sound' and the 'framing and reframing 'of media in live performance as it doubles and repeats the ghostly figures of the house in the site of the chapel. The production was filmed at the Anglican Chapel, Arnos Vale Cemetery, Bristol, in October 2019.

Concept and Direction by Mary Steadman

Filming and Editing by Mary Steadman

Devised by Mary Steadman, Leeza Jessie, Xavier De Santos, Samuel De La Torre, Zov Vélez, Alice Buckley

Lighting/sound Technician // Jayme Fraioli

Music and Songs in the films // Helen Roberts

Scenography // Mary Steadman

Performers // Leeza Jessie, Samuel De La Torre, Xavier De Santos, Zov Vélez, Alice Buckley

Live Vocals // Leeza Jessie

Filmed with permission from Mary Steadman, with Creative Media students from Bath Spa University
