bête gabriel-rufael is a composition for saxophone and percussion that explores the materiality of sound through performative actions particularly sensitive to the rapidity or density of their deployment. The piece was commissioned by Scapegoat (Joshua Hyde, saxophone, and Noam Bierstone, percussion) The piece was premiered at La Vitrola (Montreal) on the 14th May 2015. Subsequent performances of the piece have included the Canadaian Music Centre (Toronto), Spread Art (Detroit), Constellation Chicago (Chicago), Sprectrum (New York), and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK).

This document presents AUDIO DOCUMENTATION of the piece, recorded live in New York in May 2015 in a performance by the original commissioning performers.
