Research Festival, 2025 - Research Posters, Bath School of Design

<p dir="ltr">Bath Spa University Research Festival, held at Bath Spa University on Thursday, 10th July 2025. The Festival showcased research posters from across the University.</p><p dir="ltr">This item contains three research posters from Bath School of Design:</p><p dir="ltr"><b>Transition templates: pathways to Net Zero+ (Joanna Boehnert): </b>Transition Templates: Pathways to Net Zero+(TTPNZ+) is a process and set of visual tools to map and enact energy transitions in five sectors of the UK economy: Home Energy; AI & Digital; Food & Agriculture; Fashion & Textiles; and Higher Education. Working with service design consultancy Livework, TTPNZ+ develops templates to facilitate collaborative and integrated approaches to Net Zero+; creates strategies for decarbonisation in five sectors; and encourages best practice by assessing stages of transition to navigate beyond net zero toward regenerative alternatives.</p><p dir="ltr"><b>Unplugged (Coral Manton and Dave Webb): </b>The research examines the role of immersive creative technology and storytelling as catalysts for public dialogue around the social implications of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality. From 2022 to 2024, three original installations at Glastonbury Festival engaged with 8,000+ participants.</p><p dir="ltr"><b>Eco-Explorers (Milenne Tanganelli and Peter Jeffs with undergraduates Kayley Whitfield, Ben Wilson and Jaun Dalmau Sanches): </b>Digital games present an exciting opportunity to engage young people with environmental issues. Situated on the Somerset Coast, Eco-Explorers presents players with a coastal situation that may endanger the environment. Through the game’s real-world scenarios, the players learn about the key issues facing their region and its coasts.</p>
