Bath Spa University Research Festival, held at Bath Spa University on Thursday, 10th July 2025. The Festival showcased research posters from across the University.

This item contains three research posters from the School of Writing, Publishing and the Humanities:

Etosha-Kunene Histories (Sian Sullivan): How did one of the first indigenous uprisings in North-West Namibia (1897-1898) unfold during the German colonial regime? In collaboration with Namibian contributors, the research will compile a detailed chronology of the events leading up to the uprising.

Humanities for... a collaborative enterprise for generating diverse, analytical thinking, decision, making and action (Hannah Chapman, Rebecca di Corpo and Jenni Lewis): Working with non-academic communities of interest, we create spaces and material objects for sharing stories and new ideas to deepen and broaden public thought and perspective based around four themes. These important moments of connection are amplified across different digital platforms, stakeholder networks and community forums for provocation and to invite further, wider engagement.

Reading places (Nic Presley and Elizabeth Wright): The project explores the impact of shared reading tied to particular locations in developing and supporting marginalised communities. The team have gathered data about the benefits of communal reading practices, the influence of space/place on communal reading practices and the difference of reading communally online as opposed to in-person.
