Zassho-Cascadia is the culmination of a long-term project that uses photography to consider the shared seismic histories and rupture probabilities in the tectonic subduction zones of Japan and NW America. It places the human experience of catastrophic earthquakes and tsunami in the context of deep time and scientific exploration.
This Collection contains documentation about the monograph Zassho-Cascadia by Stephen Vaughan, due to be published by Loose Joints Publishing in 2021. The Collection also contains a 300-word statement about the long-term research project of which Zassho-Cascadia is the culmination, along with a timeline of the extended research project, a set of research questions, and details of research papers presented by Vaughan at several conferences.
